NPMS Academic Accountability Policy
Presenter: Tim Dittberner ~ Room 158
Level: K - 12
Tim Dittberner, Principal, will share the formation and implementation of a new
academic policy at New Prague Middle School. Many schools have unmotivated
students who are failing multiple classes. In this policy, failing students in two or
more classes must successfully complete summer school in order to be promoted to
the next grade level. This intervention is timely and directive in order to identify
students who need additional time and support to master the necessary concepts.
The academic policy is an example of building a culture of experimentation through
the engagement in active research. The primary basis for embedding this policy
into our school culture is to see how it will positively affect learning in a resultsoriented
culture.
