Secondary Reading Strategies

Level: Licensure - Reading Licensure Requirement

This session will focus on strategies that secondary teachers can use with

individual students as well as whole class instruction. The session will emphasize

and demonstrate a variety of strategies that students can use and

teachers can model throughout their curriculum. Teachers attending this session

are encouraged/required to bring a textbook, workbook, and/or other

“text” that they use with students in class. Time to plan and work with

strategies will be provided. Collaboration time will also be provided so all

teachers can see and hear how colleagues are using and plan on using reading

strategies in their classrooms.
